I'm Not That Depressed...

An honest account of (ill) health - available on Amazon as paperback and ebook

This emotional, funny, and honest book introduces you to Laura: a woman who thought herself far too sensible to ever suffer from mental health issues, who just happens to find herself in the grips of depression.

In this memoir, the author describes her journey through depression: the denial, the ups, the downs, and the ugly truth of what it’s like to experience it. From the very beginning, she lets you in on what it feels like to live in a fog of depression.

The former scientist and counsellor shares with us the things which helped her through depression, where it all came from, and some of the things which really didn’t help. She looks with honesty at the pressures we face in modern society, and how it took both practical and mental changes to finally feel at ease with herself again.

Written how she speaks, it’s like sitting down to have a conversation with the author. Raw and honest stories, with no psychobabble,

Laying out her mental health issues for the whole world to see wasn’t what Laura Rose had on her ‘to-do’ list for life, but sometimes these things just…happen.

I’m Not Depressed shows us that sometimes, sharing the ugly truth that we think will drive people away and make them call us ‘crazy’ is actually the one thing that can make us feel like we’re not alone.

In this heartfelt and beautifully written book, the author shares a deeply personal journey but one I think everyone can find things to connect with and learn from.

A good reminder not to take any of the little things for granted.

Reflections of Imperfections - Poems of Self-Love and Compassion

Reflections of Imperfections is a collection of poems that reflects on the experiences and lessons of the author. Each poem contributes a unique perspective on understanding oneself, self-love, confidence, accepting imperfections, and much more. She dives into her soul to bring out the lessons she has learned from facing self-doubt in a fake world that only cares about achievements, beauty, and image in society.

Overall, “Reflections of Imperfections” is a collection of engaging and thought-provoking poems filled with hope, and shows how strong and confident we can become if only we accept ourselves and love ourselves the way we are.

I'm Not That Anxious...

I'm currently working on a new book called I'm Not That Anxious...

In a similar style to my Depression book, I'm hoping to lay out my anxiety for the world to see, including things which helped, things which didn't, rooting around in my past to see where the heck it all came from, and how do I learn to live with it going forward.

UPDATE April 2025: First draft has been completed, second drafts are in progress, hoping to release February 2026.
